My work focuses on the geosciences, energy, the
environment, and on cognitive and neuroscience
topics. Over the past three years I have written more
than 200 feature articles, news stories and reviews on
issues ranging from chemical weapons that are rotting
away on the seafloor, to potential links between anxiety
and Alzheimer’s disease.

I contribute regularly to EARTH (formerly Geotimes),
Scientific American Mind, and other national magazines.

I completed my undergraduate work in my native Germany and earned a PhD in chemistry from the University of Denver, Colorado in 2006. I am currently an adjunct faculty member at Colorado Community Colleges Online, where I teach general chemistry. 
My articles have been recognized with awards from the Society of National Association Publications and the APEX program. I have received journalism fellowships from the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Scripps Howard Foundation. Contact me for a full resume.
